Topic: Question for Joe, concerning straps

Anyone know what the length of Joe's strap is? (for his Les Pauls)
I'm told it's 44 inches but that seems a bit short, I just wanna make sure I get it right...

Out of curiosity, why do you need to make sure you get it right?

Uhm...strap length is a function of the height of the wearer and their comfort with the position of the guitar on their own body. Duplicating someone's strap length is not really something that needs to concern a guitar player.

His EB straps are 50 inches

That's a real nice looking strap! I remember back in the day (60's/70's) when we used to use camera straps for our guitars. These are much nicer.

Why don't we eliminate all the warning labels and let things sort themselves out?

Personally, designwise - I would stray from doing his name in a Rosewood font or something... I don't think he's ever been into having his name on the straps. His new straps do have his JB logo on them.

I would do something that goes back to one of his guitars... like 1959 or his favorite gold top, was it #52? so just a number might be cooler. or est.1977?

I agree, it's really hard to design a strap without some input. I have thought about some kinda "guitar theme", but it's pretty lame to have a Gibson headstock on the strap and a strap filled with all kinds of guitars is also not my thing.
So I went all out and made, what I consider, my nicest to date. It's almost done just a couple of hours of painting and stitching, but I still have till thursday.

So I went to Carre, Amsterdam and met Joe and gave him the strap I made.
The meet and greet was cool, Joe's a very nice guy. We even went on stage to check out the amps and gear.
Carre was packed and the show was awesome!
