A Jam session, is an impromptu musical performance, usually unrehearsed. Musicians usually expect a certain level of chops to be allowed to participate, but the result is usually somewhat loosely structured, unpolished, and/or un-produced to a point. Govt Mule, Grateful Dead, Phish? Jam Bands. Bob Marley & the Wailers sometimes? Yup.
IMO this slick, soulful, perfectly produced effort that I've heard from JoeBeth is hardly a jam. But...
and it's a big ol butt, I'm an old has been, a grumpy veteran of the road. Definitions change in the world. Witness my ongoing struggle to define blues to an unyielding crowd. The younger people define things to suit themselves and God help anyone who questions that. So no harm done by the "Jam On!" or the questioning of it. NONE. 
The fact that Brett works for Joe does cover/forgive a multitude of sins. So carry on. I sincerely hope you (Brett) can get the younger people to jump on the MuchJoe train and spend some money. That would be good.
Jane Dear I've witnessed old timers leaving this forum because of the hostility of newer people. That sword also cuts both ways. Nobody is perfect. On life's scale it does no harm for younger people to explain themselves to their elders. That's cosmic law. MsTia (being Mom) often has to look the other way because I hold these kids accountable. It's good for 'em. They wanna play with the big boys they will learn the world does NOT center around them. 
Anyway, Hold on Hammer. Keep working it for Joe, Brett. Don't blow us ol farts off completely.
