They are one of those bands, you think the last gig was great, till you see the next one when they top it. Earlier this year, I caught them at Hartlepool: they'd been doing 12 hour days in the studio, did a 5 hour drive up and set up, Virgil looked dead on his feet, but once he got on stage he and the guys blasted out a storming 2 hour set including a 20 plus minute jam of Texas Flood with Mitch Laddie which was little short of epic. That's focus, drive and dedication for you. They've got discipline too, from time to time they form Joanne Shaw Taylor's backing band when she tours in the UK, and a tighter, driving backline you'd be pushed to find.

Hi Mike - (good to see you over here BTW)
Couldn't have put it better myself. The tour is going to be a cracker!
We went to see the first date on Thursday and the guys played out of their skins.
A real powerhouse set, with lots from the new album (and more to come) and a couple of new covers - I'll not give the game away completely, but listen out for a little Doyle Bramhall and KWS.They were all really stoked about the gigs they have with Robin Trower this next week, and I'm sure they will win over lots of new fans on the way.
It was a pleasure to spend some time with the guys before and after the gig, and going back to Rocket's comment about attitude, I can tell you these young guys have it. 100% the right attitude.
Don't miss them if they are playing near you!Ian
Hi Ian,
Good to get here at last. Wouldn't be surprised if Virgil is dropping in some more Philip Sayce, he was glued watching him at Holmfirth in July, pre-Maryport. Now Phil and Virgil mixing it up on stage - that would be something to see.Mike
Virgil was also at the Tunnels in Bristol a few months ago to watch Philip.
