It puts a big smile on my face 
that I get to work the stage door for comedian Lewis Black this Saturday at the Des Moines Civic Center. I just love him and I can't wait to laugh 
alot! I will have to remind myself that I'm working

Lucky girl Patty, Lewis is a big favourite of mine as well. Saw Lewis here 2 years ago for the first time, smiled all the way home!

...so my son leaves the Lewis Black show to get on back home to his girlfriend..........Lewis is signing autographs....the line wraps around the theater, but he stays to sign for everyone in line......I decide to get my son an autograph......I am dead last in line.......when I got up in line I said to him,
"My son didn't stay to get your autograph, he went on home to be with his girlfriend. What do you think of that? Could you autograph this to him?"
He gets a sly grin on his face and says "What's his name?"
I say "Bobby" He takes my silver Joe Sharpie and writes "To Bobby" and decides the silver doesn't show up well on the showcard. He then takes a black sharpie and writes, "Your Mother is too f_ _ _ _ _ _ good to you!!!" Then he flips the card over and writes,
"You P_ _ _ _! Lewis Black " Then he says, "And tell the little f_ _ _ _ _ that's why he can't read his f _ _ _ _ _ _ name on the front!!" We then shook hands as we were both laughing, me hysterically and him with a look of satisfaction.
I haven't laughed and had that much fun in a long time (especially while I was working). And I got a big kick out of our previous governor Chet Culver standing next to me the entire show (not sure why 
)....as Lewis can really bash the political arena like no other
If he comes to your area, very well worth the laughs

It was great night of comic relief

Well THAT made me smile! Mr. Culver standing beside you, hmm, not like he cold hide behind you if the barbs came flying! Luv someone having a smashing time and getting paid for it to boot! We laugh so much at my work it is funny!

Just got back from a road trip to my Mom's in JellyBean and I am still laughing today. I was thinking about Lewis today and came to this conclusion: He is the epitome of the saying "Many a truth is told in jest."
