IAN SIEGAL UK TOUR
with special guest BEN PRESTAGE

Ian is back on the road in November, this time solo and with a special guest from Florida USA, the multi-instrumentalist Ben Prestage making his first full tour of the UK. Dates are listed below.

Ian's 2008 solo acoustic album THE DUST made no.2 in MOJO's Blues Album of the year chart, while his latest band album BROADSIDE made it to the top spot -- the first time a non-American has made it to the no.1 position. Ahead of this tour Ian will be recording in North Mississippi at the famous Zebra Ranch studios.

Ben Prestage has to be seen and heard to be believed, playing a multi-piece drum kit with his feet and an array of stringed instruments to create a Muddy-Waters-meets-back-water stew that won him the Most Unique Performer Award at The Songwriters' Showcase of America.

Re: Ian Siegal

Ian Siegal & Ben Prestage - interesting combination.

Saw Ben Prestage this year or better I could hear him, the venue was so packed with people that it was nearly impossible to see him. Don't ask me what I think of his beard  tongue but his live music was good.

And Ian Siegal ... no question, I would go if I lived in the UK.
Will see Ian on 30 October at the Rosblues in Rosmalen, Netherlands.
Great line-up: Ian Siegal, Danny Bryant and Ten Years After.  lol  big_smile  lol
I'm hoping to see a jam of Danny & Ian.

Re: Ian Siegal

At November 7th he is also playing at the Berlin Jazzfest.

That date must be brand new, wasn't on Ian's homepage yesterday.
Maybe - please, please, please - some more will follow.
The organizers of the Ingolstadt Blues Festival seem to love Ian's music.
I have in mind that he was there last year too.
But sad Ingolstadt is pretty far away for me.
I have a ticket for Hengelo  lol and I'm thinking about Moulin Blues Festival, but that's not sure though there's someone else I'd really like to see: Janiva Magness.

Re: Ian Siegal

The date is brandnew; he´s playing because someone else has cancelled.
We saw him last year in Ingolstadt, same venue. But I guess Holland is nearer for you than Bavaria.

Re: Ian Siegal

I spoke to Ian last week in London about the new cd and he is really excited about it.

Re: Ian Siegal

Saw Ian and his band supporting Wilko Johnson last night and it proved just what a unique talent he is. Great reception from the Aberdeen crowd - fair to say only a few of us had seen or heard of him before.

Re: Ian Siegal

Ian Siegal is on a trip in the United States right now and he's doing some shows in July:

21 September a show of Ian Siegal and Tony Joe White in Geldrop, Netherlands ... and I'm gonna miss this show ... not the slightest chance to make it ... Grrrrrr!!!!!

Hope that I can make one of Ian's 3 shows in November in the Netherlands ...

Re: Ian Siegal

Superb split set as expected from Ian, at a packed top room in Darlington's Voodoo Café: in all, running a good 2 hours. The ambiance of the environment influencing Ian into a Tex-Mex vibe, even a track from Bob Dylan’s soundtrack to Pat Garrett & Billy The Kid made a welcome airing, then again, that might have been the recommended Rioja. Whatever, Ian’s voice and wit were in great form (you had to be there to hear the crack about Hugh Laurie…..) and the set just had a great rolling feel, right up to the Tom Waits tribute/selection finale. As there’s no place to run in the top room, Ian was called back for an encore for which he delivered a storming Falling On Down Again.

This is the first “leg” of 3 back-to-back tours Ian is doing this autumn/winter, first on being solo, then a short tour with the Mudbloods and one with a young, Dutch backing band (more detail to follow..)

Ian Siegal, the only British Blues guy with 3 legs, “so she said”....and then she fainted!

When life gives you lemons; don't make lemonade.
Give back the lemons.  Why were the lemons free?  What's wrong with the lemons?
Do Not trust the lemons...

Halleluja !!! There’ll be a live recording this year in April of Ian Siegal and his new band the Rhythm Chiefs.
And also two albums will be released this year.
Let them roll, Mr Siegal.
lol

Here something from the gig of the Ian Siegal Band yesterday @ Mol goes Blues in Belgium:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xzRoYBJkMdQ
Love the spanish vibe that Dusty Ciggaar adds to the song.

A number of gigs are announced during the next months: Germany, Italy, Switzerland, UK, Netherlands, United States, Russia, Austria
http://iansiegal.com/concert-tour

My next concert will be at the sold out Schinkel Haus in Cologne, Germany, 13 March.
And maybe I'll have to make a trip to Amsterdam to the North See Jazz Club, 17 April.
And definitely one of the concerts at the beginning of May in the Netherlands.
