Does anyone know if there a new JB Gibson LP in the works?

No, that's Prototype #1 of the initial Gold Top release I believe... an oldie...  smile

Aaah... I didn't remember ever seeing a guitar like that.


Yeah, Joe actually gave us a gear tour before his Adelaide show and showed us THAT particular guitar.  It was hand marked on the back of the headstock as 'Prototype #1' but was actually quite different from the 300 other JBLP Gold Tops that came out.

I think the Bigsby is pretty cool, and Joe said that it came from the factory like that, but that the production ones would not include them.  Not sure why?  Possibly cost or complexity of production??  Interesting too that it did not have the black back.

You could ask why he chose to bring that one on the Asia/Oz tour instead of #052.  But at the end of the day, he could have brought out a banjo strung with rubber bands and still made it sing!  lol
