Topic: Happy Septempranillo!

and some of Y'all are going "Tx Som. has lost her mind".

Just letting the JB Peeps in the wine loop know that today we celebrate the Spanish grape, Tempranillo.

This is versatile grape that can be made into different styles...meaning the winemaker can play with it and the quality is still good.

It grows well in the Paso Robles area of California and the High Plains of Texas. It may become the most grown varietal in Texas.

One of my faves is made in Dallas from Inwood Estates and I call it a "bar-b-que in a glass".

Tempranillo goes well with pizza or bar-b-que!
Salud Y'all!

One of my favorite varietal's from my absolute favorite wine region.  Thanks for the reminder.

BBQ in a glass is a great description. Love that Spanish varietal too. Salud!

Re: Happy Septempranillo!

If I had to have red wine I would choose either this, a Merlot or a Cabernet Sauvignon.  Spanish Tempranillo is like sunshine in a glass to me.  Hmm, think I might take a detour to the shops ....
