Topic: Pedal Power

SO, I bought a Monster 2500? power conditioner and it TOTALLY cleaned up my sound. I've always only used one or two pedals, but now want to expand to using more pedals- as longs as they are not buzzy.

I saw the Phantom Pedal Power 2 doesn't have an 18v plug. I really wanted to power my Fulltone Fulldrive II MOSFET with 18v instead of 9.

It seems like the old version of Pedal power had 18v but now the new one has the knob where you can make it sound powered with a deadened battery. Does the new one have an 18v space?

Which on do I get.

If you're referring to Voodoo labs PP2+, there's no 18v plug. You have the option of 12V though. Yes, there's the deadened battery 7&8 output. to get to 18V you need to buy a y-plug and jumper two of the 9v outputs.

so just to be clear, that is doable for the Power 2 Plus?

I just picked up a pp2+ and I love it! No more noise, and yes you can jump two of the power lines to get 18v.

Yeah the ISO 5, which looks pretty cool, does have a dedicated 18v output so you WON'T have to tie up 2 outputs to achieve 18volts like on the PP2+.  Only drawback with the ISO 5 is that it DOESN'T have an AC input on the back like the PP2 does...  I find that to be handy especially for some pedals like the Line6 M9 I have as it will only use it's own power source.  I have 2 PP2's, one is sort of a backup on a second board.  They're great.  If you decided to run a small tray of pedals in a rack for instance, the ISO 5 would be a good choice to save space.  Otherwise I think it's best to get the larger one and have the extra outputs just in case.

One additional note, and it's a small one, the "Y plug" from voodoo labs that you'd need to run 18volts, only has straight barrel ends.  I don't know if that will be an issue, but when all my plugs are right angled and space on a board is tight, sometimes the straight end is a little annoying.  -S

I have owned the BBE Supacharger and Dunlop DC Brick.  The DC Brick has 3 18V outs and 7 9V.  That is what I am using now.  Sounds great to me.

+1 on the PP2+

I've used one for the last 2 years or so and it's been faultless. It replaced a T-Rex Fuel Tank (which didn't have enough outputs for what I needed).

I run my Fulltone OCD pedal on 18V from the Pedal Power with a $2 Y lead. Cheapest and best upgrade i ever did!
