Re: Summer Tours

the funny thing is that i tape all those shows i go to . i can remeber the last show i went to and just sat back without recording it . i might not tape a few gov't mule shows this summer and just buy them from the muletracks and eat a hand full of shrooms drinks some jacks and just enjoy the tunes but then again i might not i say that now but when it comes show time i want the recording lol ....joe

Re: Summer Tours

Planning a summer full of shows is all fine and dandy, but to see the ones you want and get the best seats takes a lot of advance planning. sometimes the best laid plans can go awrye. I was set to see Charlie Daniels Volunteer Jam this weekend with Marshall Tucker and one of my all time faves The Outlaws. Unfortunately last week I checked up on my sons high school grad schedule only to realize it's the same night. Oh well, there'll be plenty of other shows, a dad's gotta do what a dad's gotta do.

Re: Summer Tours

Not exactly joebeacon, but for us it's a lot. Joe at the MN Zoo and Surf Ballroom (for now), Crossroads 2 in Chicago, Walter Trout at Surf Ballroom (maybe Shank Hall or Chicago HOB), Los Lonely Boys w/ Indigenous at MN Zoo, Sonny Landreth at MN Zoo, and various local Blues Festivals. Plus I'm sure we'll try to catch Bryan Lee, Guitar Shorty, Jimmy Vaughan, Chris Duarte, and Ana Popovic who are all appearing at local clubs. I should add Jim Suhler and Monkey Beat whom we saw last weekend.

Lee,

My wife and I and Jaci and her husband will be at Shank Hall, July 26th to see Walter Trout. Just in case you're in town shout out before the show!!

I'm thinking that I'd rather go to that show than the Chicago HOB Back Porch show on the eve of the Crossroads Festival. When we saw Walter in May he told us that he honestly wasn't thrilled with the booking at HOB Back Porch.

We saw Bryan Lee with KWS earlier this year and was really impressed with him.
We still trying to squeeze in Crossroads 2 without paying an arm and leg for tickets.

Re: Summer Tours

my wife is cool with me doing shows . when we meet i gave her a list of things i like to do mostly shows and recording and collecting music so i told her  if she wasn't into that then it would be a one date thing and off i would go . but she is still sticking around and i have all my body parts in one piece . she hits a bunch of shows with me but for most part i fly solo to alot of shows . when i'm in the city (nyc) she stays home most of the time because i'm seeing all kinds of underground bands and i only live 15 minutes from the city so we are there all the time laying around central park . alot of times when i travel to shows she will bring a girlfriend and i go to the shows and they go out on the town in what ever area i am at or sometimes we will travel to a place and i will spend the day with her doing stuff checking out the towns and **## like that and then when its show time she will chill out at the hotel . it works for us but i don't think it will fly for most people thats why when you meet someone lay it on the line right from the start let them know what you are all about and if it happens it happens . that was a little tip from your uncle joe lol............joe

Joe,

If I could do all that, I'm afraid I would be referring to my wife as the "X-one who must be obeyed". Either that, or I would face the same consequences as that Bobbitt character....just call me stubby for short.....LOL!! Anyway, I envy somone who can see that many quality bands. And to travel with Joe for a month?.........Priceless!!

Planning on George Thorogood, and depending, hot August Blues, maybe Pat Benetar, maybe Hot August Blues, and at the Arena in Baltimore is ZZ TOP, REO Speedwagon, Stray Cats and Pretenders all in one show but thats the day after Marino. Albert Cummings is coming to Annapolis but not sure how do-able.
I would like to go to all of those plus a ton more but definitely going to Marino. and that will be a great Street team shirt opportunity to hand out some Joe B. cards

You will love the George Thorogood show!! I've seen him twice and I got to meet him once and he signed my guitar. I got to play Voodoo Child for him! smile REO should be a rockin show. I'd love to see Albert Cummings and Frank Marino. Hope you have a great time at all of those shows!

Re: Summer Tours

hey joe, what govt mule shows are in the bunch you are going to.  i was wanting to them this summer but from everything i have seen they arent doing a summer tour?  really i only checked their website, i hope i am wrong.  les claypool is all ive already seen, i plan on seeing joe on 9-3 in indianapolis though that might not qualify as summer.   oh and joe walsh is playing the state fair in my town so i figure i can definitely swing a 10 minute drive for walsh.  im sure ill see someone else too but no plans.
