Topic: Tusq Bridge Pins

I wanted to plug this product one more time for old times sake.  I installed these on a Brand New Yamaha FS-720S acoustic guitar a few years back and it made that guitar open up like you wouldn't believe.  Now fast forward to 2011 I have my brother in laws old Samick acoustic guitar (I call it my arch top because the top was warped in a fire.  But it plays great.)  The guitar has had some minor work done to it over the years but for the most part is a solid guitar for playing on the beach, at bon fires, and I leave it at work for my lunch hour on a stand all day long.  The guitar needed new strings and so I bought some Elixers so they would last longer then a month, my John Perse strings I had on it lasted a year before I swapped them.  Anyway while I was at it I bought some Tusq pins to replace that cheap old plastic pins in the guitar.  To the amazment of me and everyone I work with the guitar now has twice the volume and the strings seem to have more harmonics to the sound.  It took this cheap less then a $100 guitar and turned it in to a real tone monster!  If your a skeptic go out and try them Musicians Friend has a 45 day return polcey.

Re: Tusq Bridge Pins

cool post!

I've been standing by these "string through" bridge pins for years. metal and brighten up your sound... strings easier to install, and strings will no longer tear a crease in your wooden bridge pin hole. It's called an EZ Peg. I have  them in my Taylor.
