I became a grandpa 4 years ago at the age of 46. I wasn't sure I was ready to be a grandpa but I love it. My 3rd grandchild is due at the end of this month!

Congratulations. You are just old. Great Grandchildren would classify you as really old. I have an almost 5 yr old and a 2 yr old. Now they do make you feel old. They can wear you out is about three hours.

Thanks everyone...the "old" thing was just a bit tongue in cheek. I'll be 55 in a few months, still feel young, and know (or hope) I have a long way to go.
As far as the grandpa thing, I really became an "instant" grandpa the day my daughter got married, since her husband has a son from a previous marriage. No matter how you look at it, this will be different, since it will be our daughter giving birth.

very exciting news Bill, you are not old at all. My grandson is 4 now, went to visit them this past weekend and found out just what a spoiled little brat he has become. Enjoy all of it, because you will turn around one day and realize they are about to graduate from high school.
