Topic: Speaker to pair with G12-65 (or buy two of the same)

Hola, I'll make this short and sweet (unless of course a discussion happens tongue)....first I'll list my setup...LP into a ceriatone jubilee, through a vintage univox 2x12 cab. I need to get new speakers for the cab, so I was looking for some guidance. I've read great things about the G12-65 and I like that they are a cross between the Greenbacks and Classic Leads..

So my question is, what should I get to pair with them?
Should I just get 2 G12-65's?
Or is there a different speaker I should invest in altogether?

Much thanks,

Ryan

Here's what I'll say.  I have 4 of them from an old Marshall straight cab from 1980.  I have the cab too.  They sound so good, I've had them in several cabinets depending what I've been playing because I love them so much.  They are my favorite speaker, bottom line.

But I will point out, in the same Marshall cab, I now have newer gt12-75s.  I wasn't really into them until I put them in this cab so it just goes to show that the cab makes a difference.  I did at one point run a 4x12 with the 65's and another 4x12 with vintage 30s while using 2 marshall heads.  I got a good balance between the 2 sets of speakers.  -Seth

Have you had any experience with Warehouse Guitar speakers? I found that they make a clone....I may have to check it out for the price difference.

The Celestion C-90s might be a good match.

I've never tried warehouse speakers but I would def consider them rather than spending the money for celestions. There is a wampler pedal demo of the analog delay and one of the plexi pedals he makes using warehouse greenberets and they sound sweet so I'd bet the 65 clones are good too.

I'm about to pull the trigger on a 65....but I have one more question. What do you guys think of Vintage 30's? It says on WGS that the et65 sounds best when paired with a vintage (veteran) 30...

As I mentioned above I used a 4x12 with 65's and another with V30s in it and together they sounded really good.  Wasn't a huge fan of Vintage 30's on their own, but they did sound good with these sort of meshing together.  The G12-65 speakers have a really nice mid range to them.  Not AT ALL spikey!
