Topic: Ask Joe Bonamassa

Riffing off of Jane's request for questions to Joe in another thread...I thought I'd start a thread where people can ask questions. Maybe if they're interesting enough Joe might answer them.

Ok, here goes.

Joe, you perform basically the same set list every night. When you go onstage what are you as an artist looking to accomplish just for yourself? Outside of entertaining and outside of the crowd reaction, what things do you do that float YOUR boat? Do you try to bring new things you've been noodling with? Do you try to play a note or a riff better than the last night? Give us some insight as to how you make your performances interesting for you.

Thanks in advance if you answer this.

Anyone else got a burning question for Joe?

I'm just saying.

Re: Ask Joe Bonamassa

Sorry. Unless you want to let us in about your lifestyle I'm afraid we don't have an answer to that question.

I'm just saying.

Burnin' Hell?

Re: Ask Joe Bonamassa

Yes! Excellent question, Nancy.

I've always wanted to ask Joe... what would you be doing if you weren't playing guitar?

One thing that always puzzled me was why Tarzan didn't have a beard.

Re: Ask Joe Bonamassa

kinda of on a same note.

How much of your fills and solos are preplanned or are as previously asked try to embelish upon a preexisting lick and from the cuff/on the fly.

what do you do to try and "spice" things up and move to another idea/thought/lick etc.  I have noticed amp changes, playing the les paul more etc...

thank you for your time.

Re: Ask Joe Bonamassa

Hey Joe,
Have you kept a journal over the years of all the places played, people you've met, people you've played with,etc...so someday you might write an autobiography with pictures included of course???  I  know you're only 30, but I think you have seen and done a lot in your 30 years that fans would love to read about.  I know the videos of you when you were much younger are a special treat to watch.  I'm curious about what makes Joe Bonamassa tick.  I have a million questions, I would love to ask you, but I will refrain.
                                                                            luv ya'     pattyluvsjoe

P.S. A quickie...What's your middle name?  (Sorry for the dorky question)

Re: Ask Joe Bonamassa

I know this is difficult to even imagine, but, if there was a fire and you could only rescue 1 guitar, which one would it be?     (Oh, were any of the tickets winners?)    Cathy

Re: Ask Joe Bonamassa

I could see this thread getting out of hand . so many questions so many people.I will say it is a cool idea.I'll throw in my 2 cents. joe you have probably played with a ton of great players over the years ,but is there someone you have'nt played with yet [still living] that would be your all time wish.

Mornin!

I would like to know if you he ever had to shred somebody under the table. You know what I mean, it's a jam session, this guy thinks he can play with the big boys and trys to show Joe up.

Shred

Joe is pretty good at changing the subject and then there's the "look" did you just actually ask me that??
