Re: Buying a Jubilee

Another Jubilee amp everyone seem to forget about is the Slash Heads made in 96'. There are 2555 heads & I believe the only difference in the head is a newer style effects loop circuit. The pre-amp & power amp circuits are the same as the 87-89 era Jubilees.

Here's another black 1988 2550 for sale in the UK -

He wants £700 or near offer - Seems pretty reasonable to me. I'd be all over it if I didn't already have two of 'em.

Keeping an eye on this one ..though the seller hasn't been overly communicative so far despite me making two offers since Sunday ..I can't justify the full £700 less than a month after the JBLP studio though

There's also a mint looking silver half stack Jubilee 2550 in there too for £1,250

Re: Buying a Jubilee

The 96 Slash amps don't use Drake Transformers, at least that is what I have read on other boards.

The original hundred watters didn't use Drakes either. All the 100 watt Jubilees I've seen had Dagnalls.

Re: Buying a Jubilee

I have an 89 2553, smaller 2550. I paid £750 for mine and love it. Crank her up and she sings, played clean at home with a zvex box of rock in front and it's a great plexi impression. Add various drive pedals to suit in front of the box of rock and it is a very versatile little rig.
