Re: Wireless Guitar System

I personally have the Line 6 G90 (rackmount) wireless system, and I love it.  They make 2 non rackmount versions, the g30 and g50.  They are pretty inexpensive and I'd recommend them.  People will always give you a line of bull saying nothing beats a cable, and yes a cable does sound good, but seriously there isn't any difference I can tell with this unit.  It's digital and has a feature to allow a "virtual" cable length that simulates having a cable.  It rolls off some of the high end.  Youtube them.  -Seth

Re: Wireless Guitar System

I have the little pedal sized Line 6 model it was cheap and its great.

Re: Wireless Guitar System

Hi,

I can also recommend the Line6 G90. Very good coverage area and seems to be noise free even in environment with lots of "radio noise". No change in sound quality compared to my high end cables.

Keep rocking!

Re: Wireless Guitar System

I've been using the G30 since they came out with no problems at all. Only change I made was to use rechargable batteries and ditched the cheapo lead for one I made up with a Neutrick Silent jack. Truly sounds better than most leads IMHO.

I used a 2' rt. angled patch cable for mine.
I have a neutrik cable though and like it for open mics.

I don't like using rechargables, so I have a huge thing of AA batteries. I'll put in fresh ones before  a gig and play them though practices.

Re: Wireless Guitar System

In real use, how many hours do you get from a fresh set of batteries?

I have the G90, it has a battery meter on the pack and I use Energizer advance lithium and I've done several gigs on the same 2 batteries.  I think they start out at around 8+ hours according to the meter.  Doing 2 or 3: 1 hour sets per night (I gig about once a month) and turning the pack off in between sets, I've done 4 gigs on the same 2 batteries.  It honestly DOES NOT eat batteries.  And always keep 2 fresh ones just incase. -S

Out of batteries that are not rechargable, I get 4-5 hours of playing time. My band practices a little over an hour a week, and same for a gig, and I change them about every 4th or fifth use.

All my pedals are powered now with plugs instead of batteries, but I'm not totally free of batteries yet.  lol

Try the advanced lithium, all the video game nerds use them in their controllers.  There are different ratings as fr as how long they last, depending which batteries you get but they last longer than normal batteries.  Or if you're buying regular AA's in bulk then probably doesn't matter.  -S
