Topic: goldtop-bonaburst question

Hey guys,

I have a question about the JB sig Les Pauls.

From Gibson you have: Studio goldtop, Goldtop, Bonaburst.

Are there any other Gibson JB models out there? I remember seeing online a kind of blue-ish one.
Also i can't seem to find the Bonaburst on Gibson.com? Is there a reason for it?
WHat are the differences between the Goldtop and the Bonaburst except the finish?

Thanks!

There's also a Epiphone JB LP

The "Bonaburst" is sold exclusively through Wildwood. The color is officially called "Bonamassa Burst". We've called it a "Bonaburst here at the forum.

There were 4 Candy Apple Blue JBLP's that came out in the original LTD signature edition JBLP's. Gibson also released a LTD (25) Custom Shop candy apple blue 57 LP's around the same time but those are not part of any of the JB signature line.

As you know each guitar is always different tonally, but otherwise there's not much different between the Goldtops and the Bonabursts component wise. Some of the Bonaburst's have a bigger 58 style neck. But they all have the same pickups, bridge and tuners. Finish wise, all the Bonabursts are a VOS finsh. The first 250 out of the 300 original Goldtops were aged by the Gibson custom shop. The remaining 50 are a glossy goldtop finish, less the 4 finished in a glossy candy apple blue.

Hope this helps.
