Topic: Best tubes for Silver Jubilee

Dear all,

A few weeks ago I bought a mint Silver Jubilee (100w) with matching cab. It has TAD-tubes in it, and I guess there's better tubes out there. Which tubes do you recommend for this lovely baby? (Both power and preamp).

Winged C EL34s are good power tubes

Lots of people like JJ's I think they're a little too hot.
+1 on the Winged C tubes... for power tubes anyway.
For preamp tubes, theres a wider difference based on taste. chinese tubes get you more 'grit' and mullards are some of the lowest gain preamp tubes. JJ's are pretty high gain.

The only tubes I really do not like are Groove Tubes. Just had bad luck with them.

Another one for the winged C on the power tubes, I have had GT didn't care for them and I have JJ's which I like but next time I will try something else.

I like RFT's in my Jubes, but if I had to get new production I would get Winged C's.
They are expensive though. I actually pay less for NOS RFTs than I do for Svetlana Winged Cs.
