Topic: Hello from Texas

New member here from a small, flat, dry, dusty town in the Texas panhandle. There's not too much to do around here as of late if you're not a big fan of melting and/or heat stroke. Often simply looking outside can induce a sweat. Ugh. Needless to say, I turn to Joe for a bit of refreshment. He's simply unbelievable, as you all know (or should know). I already have my tickets to see him in Austin in December; I couldn't be more excited. I haven't been able to listen to anything else the last few months, and I reckon the next five at least won't be any different. It's people like Joe that inspire so many to pick up the six-string, much like he was inspired by Mr. Clapton. I've played for almost ten years, and I came in to Joe late seeing as how I'm only 21, but, regardless, he's changed my musical tastes forever. His passion, musical fusion, not to mention ridiculous skill level, it all drives me to play better. I saw him here in '07, and he blew the roof off. Not literally, it was a new building, and that would have been quite the disaster, but he might as well have. Anyways, love Joe's music, can't get enough, yay for prodigies.

Re: Hello from Texas

Hi Texas from overcast rainy but warm Lancashire UK. Just home from work playing the new (to UK) Epiphone JB. Best way to wind down. I'm also reasonably new to the forum so enjoy.

Come on the Blades (sorry Idolbone just had to borrow your line)

Re: Hello from Texas

How do you like that?? I've heard it's a pretty nice guitar but haven't gotten to play one.

Re: Hello from Texas

Absolutely awesome. I'd recommend one to anyone.

Right on. I've been looking at some Paul Reed Smiths. If I get one, I'll probably go with a Custom 24. They're beautiful. Probably have to get the SE though, since I don't have much moolah to work with. Either way, I'm stoked. But that comes after a few concert trips this year.
