Topic: Small World

I received an e-mail the other day from Gary, who frequents this site. Gary is also from Illinois and lives in the general Chicagoland area.
Gary works in sales and told me that he was at a house in the Crystal Lake area, opened his laptop, which has the cover of Sloe Gin as a screen saver, and the homeowner says "Oh, you like that Bona guy?". Gary replies yes, and the homeowner tells him he has a friend who is a big fan and goes to all the shows. Gary asks "What's his name?"...well, you can see where this is headed, it's me. Gary knows me and told him so, hence the "small world" thing.
The homeowner (Bob) was a neighbor of mine over 10 years ago. We re-connected a couple years ago and have stayed in touch a bit. The last time he and his wife visited us (at least a year ago), I filled him in on JB and treated him to a bit of the RAH dvd...guess it stuck, lol.
This kind of stuff happens on occasion (in fact I had an incident occur a week or two ago - non JB related), but it still surprises me whenever it does.

Any small world stuff happen to you recently?

Hi Bill, I read your post a while back about your friend Mark who introduced you to Joe's music. You mentioned that Mark had passed away. Did he by chance have a wife named Jan and a couple of kids, one which was named after a certain Scorpions guitar player? Long shot, I know.

Is my world getting smaller still?

Re: Small World

I was on facebook looking at the BCC Italy Street Team Banner photos and made a comment. Up pops chat from Michele Riparbelli, one of the Italian crew. We chatted back and forth and I remarked I had worked in Italy for a few months a ways back in time. He asked where and it was Viareggio. He laughed and said that was his home town and where he lives. Now I've another friend to visit. It is just a short drive up to fabulous Florence, one of the cities in the world that should be on every bucket list. Not far from Pisa as well. Site of the famous leaning tower which I climbed when I was there.

That's what happens when you wander out into the infinity of the north woods.....everything echoes back that "your world" is indeed microscopic at certain times...for a while...
Barbie, wasn't Bill's post about that a long time ago??? Curious because of the time stretched (backwards on memories) affords and becomes a smaller world hypothesis I am noodling around with...

Hi Rocket, I think Bill's post was a couple months ago. Too lazy to look it up right now. Not sure we have the connection, though.
