The greatest ever does need a bit of clarification. Does this mean the greatest ever over the course of an entire career or does it mean the greatest ever at the peak of a career? Gale Sayers, at the peak of his career (which was cut short by injury), was recognized as one of the greatest runners ever. He was Barry Sanders and Devin Hester rolled into one package, but he only played for 5 years. I'm not suggesting he belongs on this list, only using him as an example. My list is really a blend of peak talent and longevity.
