Not sure what "water moccasins" or "copperheads" are. Not fond of spiders & snakes either but thankfully don't bump into many where i live!!

Those are some of the poisonous snakes found in the US southeast around swampy areas. Louisiana has lots of them.

There are two kinds of copperheads and two kinds of rattlesnakes and cottonmouth water moccasins aplenty in the northeast US of A.  In the forests too, not just watery locales.  Had encounters with all of these...out west too!

"Brack" = City Boy!  ;-)  "Water moccasins" = cottonmouths = poisonous snakes that will drop in your boat while you are boating or fishing in Louisiana ... "copperheads" = poisonous snakes that will cross your path while hiking, which I do a lot (in the fall and winter of course!) ... rattlesnakes & tarantulas also abound, especially when we go 4 wheeling in the mountains in Arkansas just north of us ...

Hey, it's not that easy being a "Southern Belle", is it BJJ?   :-)

I do live in a medium sized city, but this is a swampy state (right Rocket?) and I do love my outdoor activities!  ... thus random things to avoid ...

Re: Random Things In The World To Avoid

one must avoid getting too close to someone. its just for introvert people because first its difficult to get attached and then it leaves a bad taste.

well, dust in general should be avoided but this is just nuts. Had Dr Forbes on the weather channel last night, don't laugh too hard but he said this is called a "Haboob", pretty scary.

Just landed in Phoenix and the dust smell is still in throughout the airport.  Hot and hazy outside.  Probably not safe to breath.  On to Austin and the heat and humidity of central Tejas.

I'll be outside 12+ hours/day trying to start up a wet plant for sand washing.  Muddy/hot/soaking wet, long hours for the next 6 or so days.  I think I may have a shiner bock or two in the evenings

be safe Rock, temps could be dangerous and that's a lot of time outside. yep, that Shiner bock is one of my favorites, they even ship it in to Alabama. oh, and don't forget the BBQ, we must keep up our weight....edit, must keep up our strength. Sand needs to be washed? I have done some work there for Schlumberger, they use a lot of sand, but I never knew it had to be washed.

Getting way off topic here, but yes, sand needs to be washed, dried and screened to give the frac crews clean, dry, consistant, closely sized and graded spherical grains to maximize the pore space between the grains, thus maximizing the flow of oil/gas to the wellbore.  The fines (silts and clay's) need to be removed as they would plug up the pore space.

Yeah, i know, probably a whole lot more about the sand business than anyone not in it give's a rat's backside about.

but anyway,  I'm enjoying a nice air conditioned water break right now.  Welders with torches demoing obsolete equipment to make way for new installation.
