Topic: Faulty boss pedal

Hi

Just bought a Boss RV5....was working for all of yesterday with no trouble whatsoever...then I turned it on today and it wasn't. The LED lights up when I put my Boss AC adapter in, the pedal is letting my guitar signal through but the effect is just not working. I've tried new batteries, I've tried taking the batteries out and only using the adapter, I've tried it through the effects loop...nothing's working.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Re: Faulty boss pedal

I would take it back....I think Boss has a pretty good warranty policy..

Re: Faulty boss pedal

One good thing is its a Boss they should stand behind it or the store were you bought it!

Obviously circumstances change from store to store, but is it likely I'll just be able to send it back and get a replacement?

Re: Faulty boss pedal

before you go back to the store also check and make sure you didn't plug your guitar up to the output jack.  I'm not trying to insult you or anything but these things happen sometimes.  Its strange you get single to pass through and when the led comes on you loose signal.

most places will look at your pedal for free if you bought it from them and odds are can trouble shoot any problems it has.  If not they should replace it on the spot.  If they don't ask for your money back and go buy the pedal somewhere that likes having good customers come back and do repeat buissiness.

Thanks for your reply

Yeah I checked all the cables were leading to the right places...just to be sure I swapped in my DD-7 and it worked fine...so it must be a faulty pedal (which is weird since Boss are known for making solid pedals, and double as weird seeing as it was working perfectly yesterday)

Tube screamer is coming on Monday so that'll keep me entertained while my other pedal is being returned...anyone know whether you can power a TS808 using a PCA adapter?

Thanks!
