Topic: Class 5 on sale

Just got an email from gc... At least at my store the c5 is $299 right now, if anyone is looking.

Re: Class 5 on sale

Is that for the combo or the new head?

Re: Class 5 on sale

It's 299 for the combo (old version) but Guitar Center doesn't have anything in stock online, it's only whats in stores.  So if your local store has one, and you want one, thats a decent price.  Sweetwater DID have the head in stock earlier today, but in limited quantities.  Nobody else shows the head in stock.  Head version is 349.

Wait! What's this about a Class 5 Head??  Is this something that will work with my amp?  Or is it just a head that will work with a cabinet?

Hi Ron here
The Class 5 is a great practice amp headphones nothing fancy. But I am sure you know this already. I have one and it is a great easy to carry practice amp with some of the marshall mojo.
Cheers Ron

I have the Class 5 Amp.  but what is different about the head?  Because I can also use my class 5 and run it into a cabnet.

Re: Class 5 on sale

The CLASS 5 HEAD is just a head for of the class 5 combo.  Just came out this week in stores in the US.  It's small and looks similar to the Marshall 2061 20watt head.  It DOES have the option of powering a cab of EITHER 8 OR 16ohms.  There is a 1/4" speaker out for each but is only designed to use one at a time.  The combo is more practical as the head still is only 5 watts.  But if you already have a 1x12 or 2x12speaker cabinet, you can pop for the head.

There is a class 5 speaker cabinet to be available in the near future that looks just like a class 5 combo but is purely a speaker cabinet, nothing more.  Might as well just go with the combo and be done with it.  I wish they would have instead made a 15 or 20 watt head and a mini 2x12 cab like the 2061x to go with it.
