Topic: Radial Big Shot Amp Switcher and Marshall Master Lead questions

So for those that have seen my thread about getting an amp to match with my Ceriatone Jubilee clone, you know that I'm getting a Fender Bandmaster Reverb in the next week or so...

Well this means I need a solid amp switcher, and I've been looking at the Radial Big Shot. The reviews are pretty good, but I was wondering if anybody on here has used it?

Also I remember seeing Joe talk about Marshall Master Lead amps in a thread on here that were made in the 70's and 80's and the Guitar Center near me has a Marshall Master Lead 5010 for 199.99....Is this a good deal for a good amp for like bedroom use and maybe a quiet jam session?

Also there is a 1970 Marshall Master Lead combo for sale on Ebay...would that be better/worst than the one previously mentioned?

Radial Big Shot is great...downside is lack of LED to indicate which channel is selected.

Whirlwind A/B is cheap, around 100 bucks.  It HAS led lights.  It's worth getting something that has led lights.  Guitar Center sells them.  Maybe your store carries it.  Just a suggestion.

I'm probably going to get one since I need a second AB box.  I emailed Whirlwind recently asking if these units had isolated outputs.  They told me no, but they are very high quality and will resist ground loops.  Since 1 certain professional uses it, I'm sure they meet the high demand of the road or local scene too.  My current A/B doesn't have a ground lift feature and it doesn't seem to be an issue anyway.

If you have the bucks, Lehle Dual or Voodoo Lab Amp Selector are great. I have heard good things about the Framptone. I would imagine that the Palmer unit is first rate but might be pricey.

I would buy the Whirlwind.

If you do decide, to buy it, let me know what price you can get it in store for, because I know where you can get it for about 85-90 USD. (brand new, online)

Performance Audio has it for 89, no tax and free shipping.  Everywhere else is 108.  GC is 99 but they add tax.

The Marshall 5010 is a decent sounding amp. Not quite loud enough for me to gig with but ok for practice and jamming. As far as price goes I paid $135 for mine off eBay. I think anything under $200 would be good depending on condition.

Yeah it looks like they go cheaper on ebay... There is one that is a 1970's version and its a 2x12.
