Never lose sight of the meaning of this holiday. Since 9/11 that meaning has become more somber as we have been losing members of our armed services in the fight to end terrorism. If as an American you enjoy your freedom.....then thank a veteran next chance you get. Now go ahead and fire up that BBQ and raise a toast to those who gave all.
Peace,
J Dawg

A point well taken and thanks for adding to my post.Sometimes need to say outloud thanks to all who have served our country.
A smart salute to all those who served or are serving this country on this day of remembrance. This vet always remembers most of all, those who gave their all for our way of life. May 30 originally was called "Decoration Day" and was for decorating the graves of the fallen Union soldiers after the Civil War. It was adopted by the South after WW1 to include all the fallen.
Never forget.

I did a 4 hour outdoor concert show yesterday and in the middle of it, I gave my "All gave some, some gave all" speech (had to ask 2 young mommies to hush just a minute) and almost lost it before I was through.
When I retook the stage, as we were tuning right quick, I heard guitarman say "UH OH." Looked up to see some ruff looking cats walking to the stage. The ugliest one said to me that his whole crew wanted to thank me for saying what I did, cause all the bands and announcers before me had NOT... for 3 days before me?... naw...fraid so...
It was emotional. You don't wanna see a tough guy weep.
MuchThanks
