Topic: Joe's Jeff Beck Strat

Hey Joe! Tell us about your Jeff Beck Strat from Dust Bowl. Which track was it used on and which amp were you playing it through? Artist Series or Custom Shop? I'll bet you chose Olympic White. big_smile

The bizarre thing about the Jeff Beck Strats is that Jeff himself plays one that is nothing like the signature model....his is a basswood JW Black body from 93 coupled with a JW Black made neck and John Suhr wound pickups....good old Fender have not been able to make him one that has met his requirements since those masterbuilders left! Madness.

Re: Joe's Jeff Beck Strat

I think I read he played it on Meaning of the Blues and Prisoner....

He played like a 70's Strat on the slide part of Slow Train and on You Better Watch Yourself....

I could be wrong though, hopefully the man himself can drop in and talk about it.

Yeah, I saw a video where his tech says that Jeff hates his Custom Shop Signature Strat and then tries to catch himself. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W4EBBPOr2no) It doesn't bother me much because I will never be Jeff Beck and I like the sound and the look of it. The Hot Noisless pups are killer. Love the two-point bridge, satin neck, and locking tuners. Obviously, Joe liked the Hot Noiseless sound enough to use it on the album so I figured I would try to ask the man himself about it. smile
