Topic: JBLP Prices

Hey everybody

I have been watching from afar for a while.  Huge JB fan for about 2-3 years.  I have the oppoortunity to buy a non-aged Custom JBLP and the seller has asked for an  "offer".   Can you guys give me an idea what this guitar is worth?  There is not a huge market out there, so I am trying to make the guy an offer that is reasonable to both sides,   Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: JBLP Prices

I've seen the aged one's go anything from USD$3400 up to USD$5000 !!

For what it is worth, there is an unaged LP Gold Top for sale on another forum, and the seller is asking USD$4600 for it.  Bearing in mind there were only 25 unaged out of the 300 original guitars, they are considered rarer, though I am not sure if they are more desirable than the aged ones?!?

Re: JBLP Prices

Yeah, I am watching that now>  "Seems" a bit high, but I'm no expert.

Re: JBLP Prices

If you take some time and read through the "Joe Bonamassa Les Paul Registry", a thread thats posted as "Sticky" up above in this section, you will find that 50 made glossy, minus 4 or 5 that came in Candy Apple Blue VOS. You will also learn in reading through the registry that some stores were selling these guitars new for up to $4500 US. Also, all of the JBLP's were made with two piece backs as described here on Musicians Friend.

The current price is what ever the market will bear. Just a few months ago Wildwood had 3 "new" JBLP's that sold for $4300.

Re: JBLP Prices

Thanks guys.  I did read through the registry.  Then I saw the unaged JBLP on ebay at a current price of $4,550, and it threw me off a bit.  I guess in an auction setting the price could get "out of control" a bit.  But as Spider said whatever the the price is whatever the market will bear.  Hope to be part of registry someday soon!  Thanks again

Re: JBLP Prices

I doubt anyone would take less than $3800 for one unless they're very hard up for cash.

Re: JBLP Prices

It's nice to see that they are gaining value. I don't ever plan on selling mine.

I'm saving up for when Gibson issues a JB 59 Les Paul!!  big_smile   cool   cool

Re: JBLP Prices

Maybe they will wait until I can win some coin at Harras Casino in Cherokee NC!  Guess I'll have to go first.

Re: JBLP Prices

Call Wildwood and get a brand new Bonaburst VOS guitar.

You can't go wrong there.

You're killing me! You think they would?

Theres no way in a million years I would miss out on this, unless it was really silly (Beano) money....which it probably would be.

Re: JBLP Prices

Someday I think there will be. If Gibson does, even if it's crazy money, I'll be all over it like fly's to a picnic.
