I have been known to pull a plug on an opening act in my younger days.  LITERALLY.  I hate that slovenly attitude that entitles being late as well.

Once at a jam/dance, the group preceding me had a female who carried her purse on stage and answered her cell in the middle of the KB solo and then left the damn thing on stage when her set was through.

When it rang during my set, I saw her heading onstage to get it.  I launched that purse out onto the dance floor...almost started a riot.  Her BF was remarkable.  He put his head down and said nothing.

It's a pointless mind game/power trip.  Your job is to entertain the people who paid to get in.  You go to work on time.

Haha. Jeff, sounds like maybe HE wanted to launch her purse as well?

Re: Did your last shows start in time?

As I handed out Joe fliers at his show in Milwaukee this past March, I warned all the people I could coming in 15 minutes before the show to get in their seats as soon as possible because Joe starts right on the minute. Finally, at about 5 minutes to and still with people coming in, I took my own advice and took my seat. As you can tell by this video, many didn't listen. Sorry for the camera shake, I'm filming the great Joe Bonamassa and get a bit excited right before the show starts! cool

Anyway, there are very few excuses to starting late AND there is no excuse for people to come wandering in to the show during the first song! roll  It really goes both ways.

No excuses (except sand and snow storms) for concert goers coming late to a seated venue and disturb others taking their seat.
