Did you try this with your guitar volume on 2-4?
The Marshall Class 5 wide open does sound a little bad, but I roll off to 6-8 on my guitar volume and it calmed it down a little.

No I don't usually keep my guitar volume that low. Yeah I agree the class 5 wide open does sound a little bad.. With the volume just past noon everything seems to work fine for me. An OD pedal in front does help add a little more volume but definitely gives you a better, smoother crunch vs the natural crunch of the amp cranked up all the way. Also, Yes you're right, if you are using nothing more than the amp itself, cranked loud; rolling the guitar volume back certainly does the trick to calm everything down.
I think this little 5 watt combo is a great amp, just wish they would have considered doing the head version with a little more power. But thats just me, I'm sure though it will be cool when it finally comes out. -Seth
