Re: 57 classic 4 conductor nickel humbucker

I would make sure the pickups youre jimmy page wiring are at least 12k.

I say this because my '72 gibson pickups are 8-9k, and tapping a coil cuts that in half (4.5k) and a neck pickup on a strat sounds better than the tapped neck pickup on the LP. It's a nice conversation feature I don't ever use. but I totally killed the value on the vintage les paul and the shop that did it kept my original pots back in the 90's. sad

Re: 57 classic 4 conductor nickel humbucker

I use the 57 classic in the neck on my lp it seems quite bright so maybe u don't need to coil tap? Why don't you put it out of phase ala peter green?

Re: 57 classic 4 conductor nickel humbucker

I love the out of phase sound on a les paul, but do it with a switch because just flipping the magnet inside the pickup really limits you.  I would much rather have the option to have it normal between the 2 pickups and then flip a switch to go out of phase.
