Only 4 candy apple blue JBLP's were made. One is in the UK and Joe owns the remaining three. I too wish they'd produce more.

It would have been cool to make the new studio model in "Candy Blue"... Maybe a 2nd Studio model will come out ???

Since they haven't actually "made" the first studios yet, maybe some candy apple blue ones could be produced too!

What do you say Joe? Gibson loves you. I am sure they would listen if you made the suggestion. I'd be all over one of those.

so there is only one blue one out there....????   was that a mistake..?? i thought joe had one,one in the uk, and two that havent been found yet..?? i really like the way it looks...

Not a JBLP but...here's a candy blue 57 RI with darkback on ebay for $3299, or offers. It's listed as 1 of a run of 25.

well i now am the owner of a new blue gibson.... Custom Shop Limited Run '57 Les Paul Standard like the one in the link above... it is real nice.. i will take some pics and try to post a link to them... it will take a week or so ...bonafan---cliff

@spider...  are those the only things that are different then the jblp..??  i dont know if i will change anything or not... this thing sounds and feels better than anything i have ever touched...

There are only 5 JBLPs in candy apple blue..  I have one.. #279 and the other four are scattered in the hands of different owners.. They are certainly the rarest of the lot.  There is no difference between the blue ones and the unaged goldtops.  I do know of the one in the UK that had to be sent back for a headstock repair or reneck due to a shipping accident other than that I don't know who has the others..

Cliff, if you like it as it is then leave it be. Aesthetics can be changed to suit your tastes and shouldn't harm the performance of the guitar. Congrats by the way.  big_smile   cool

Why don't we eliminate all the warning labels and let things sort themselves out?

Pretty cool...I think these are a special run of 25 that came out in 2010,,,,Candy Blue L/Ps with Burstbuckers....Custom Shop of course!
