Roger - since when was Marcus a member? I have the album, he's not included.

Re: Saint Jude

When  Marcus is available he plays in a twin guitar attack, Scott Wiber formerly of Sandi Thoms band is now full time on bass guitar. Marcus and Scott are on the remaining gigs of this year with Saint Jude including The Borderline & High Voltage

Thanks for the clarification Roger. My sister has seen them about 6 times and never mentioned Marcus.............perhaps she hasn't seen that line-up.

Hadn't heard of them, so thanks for the heads-up Roger. I can hear a bit of GP&TNocts going on, which is a good thing, IMO!  smile

I thought the Faces Kenny - and the Stones, who were the Black Crowes biggest influence so we're on the same lines I guess.

Re: Saint Jude

Picked up some of their music.  Good stuff.  Be nice if Marcus appeared on a future studio effort.  The girl reminds me alot of Sass Jordan.

Re: Saint Jude

On Roger's recommendation I joined him at the Borderline in central London last night to watch this excellent band. Rock? They've got it in spades. The whole house was rockin'.

First off though, I thought I'd stumbled upon a Sandi Thom gig by mistake. As the band came on I recognised her keyboard player, her bass player and even Lindsey Cleary was up near the stage. But Lindsey was only in the audience like us other lucky punters and instead of being the support act Marcus Bonfanti was part of the band.

The band are fronted by singer Lynne Jackaman. Oh man, she has the perfect rock voice. Belting it out on the rockin' numbers and soulful on the slower ones. And Marcus? Marcus was revelation. I'd only ever seen him play acoustic before but electric in a rock band he's sensational.

If you're in Germany later this month or in the Netherlands in May look out for St. Jude as they're touring - DO NOT miss them!

Cheers David I'm so glad you enjoyed the gig. This band has a great future, they are well grounded always having time for the fans before & after the gig. Musically, if you are a fan of the late 60's/early 70's rock sound ala stones/faces, then this band is for you . Lynne a maggie Bell/janis/elkie hybrid is awesome. Class musicians who are clearly in their element playing live and not afraid to show it on stage  either.
See them when you can , probably not in london until late april/early may. This was my 11th gig with them and last night was simply fantastic.

For those who are my friends on FB , i have a photo album of some of the evening on there.

I ought to be given twenty lashes for demeaning yet another talented young singer to the Sass/Bonnie/Janis comparison.  Lynne Jackaman has probably more in common with Grace Potter, but in reality her singing breathes fresh air into modern rock music.  I got Saint Jude's album and can now understand why Ron Wood and Jimmy Page have been smitten by the band.  Guitarist Adam Greene is an excellent complement to Lynne's singing and drummer Lee Cook reminds me of a young Charlie Watts.  The album's got a nice blend of rockers spiced with blues infused ballads making it one of the better first albums I've listened to lately.  If I was living in the UK this would be the band I'd have to see live.
http://youtu.be/wyiQtzf5nFs  This song sends chills down my spine.  Great singing by Lynne and Adam's play on acoustic guitar.  Oh, can't forget Lee adding a little foot percussion.

Don't have luck with the ladies. Had tickets for Sandi Thom with Marcus Bonfanti as support as well as Saint Jude but both gigs were cancelled.
Checked Saint Jude's date in the Netherlands, locations are all far away and most of them during the week. No chance.
And what a shame that I can't go to the Highlands Festival in Amersfoort, Friday 27 May. Line-up is fantastic: Sonny Hunt & The Dirty White Boys,  Henrik Freischlader Band, Saint Jude, Ian Siegel Group, Bernard Allison Group.
I'll be in the zoo for a night walk that evening with some friends.

Hope to see them sooner or later.
