Topic: John Mayalls Blues Breakers

Saw Mayall last night at Variety Playhouse in Atlanta and what a great show.

Almost two hours and Mayall had a great band.  Gave everyone a chance to shine.

Rocky Atlas was a great guitar player.  Greg Rzab on bass was fantastic as was drummer Jay Davenport.

It is nice to see this legend still enjoying what he does.

First class act.

See him when you can.

Incredible how many excellent guys played with John Mayall.
Saw them at a festival some time ago and they were real good. Wouldn't hesitate to go to a gig again.
Hope to see Rocky Athas also with his own band. Really like his album Miracle.

Re: John Mayalls Blues Breakers

sounds like a great show, would liked to have seen him. Greg is excellent on the bass but I don't know the other two guys.
Tomorrow, John will play the 1st Annual Bluesmasters Festival at Kissimmee,FL. Pretty good lineup, well worth the treck for south central FL folks, including Eric Gales, Elvin Bishop, Shemekia Copeland, Pat Travers and others.

Re: John Mayalls Blues Breakers

I went to see John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers about 10 years ago. A rare local gig, and it was a double header with the Peter Green Splinter Group. Buddy Whittington was on guitar for the Bluesbreakers, and the excellent Nigel Watson was Peter Green's co-guitarist and vocalist. I was very impressed with John Mayall as a live performer, and it was a superb gig from both bands.

Re: John Mayalls Blues Breakers

Saw him about a month ago...thought he was great. Kinda makes me wonder why he isn't invited to the Crossroads Festival. I wonder how things are between him and Eric.
