Perhaps it is rude to offend me?! Tell you what.  Private message those who share your "love" and go watch your tv.  Otherwise, we each invite mutual rudeness.  You knew it about me and you keep pushing.  Not everyone bows and kneels or jumps off cliffs like lemmings or thinks the king got lovely clothes on! Rest it! We can take this political and get it pulled? Or leave it?

Re: To Patty

I was up at 3 am and got to watch too. ( The wife wanted to watch, but I had to wake her up and make coffee.  hmm ) It was cool and I enjoyed the pageantry and the ceremony. The choir with the young boy sopranos was amazing. All in all, worth the lost sleep and the new Princess is a stunner!
I didn't cry.

Re: To Patty

I saw Lon Chaney Jr walking with the queen......... I did get up at 6 and realized I had missed the ceremony, they were on their way out of the church. Still, I was transfixed on all the pomp and pageantry, it was an amazing event that just doesn't come around that often. The people pouring into the square to get a peek of them on the balcony reminded me of New Years eve in Times Square. That's about as close as we get to it. Congrats to the newlyweds and all of England on a show that even Joe cannot top. No, I didn't cry but was a little verklempt as they walked the aisle.

Re: To Patty

I didn't get up to watch and I had to work, but I've caught up this evening. Wasn't it wonderful to be watching a huge crowd in London celebrating instead of mourning!!! The maternal, clucking-hen in me couldn't help but channel his mother. I think people forget that all fairy tales have castles, and Princes that marry Commoners. We don't have those things in the States. Today was that "happily ever after" ending.  smile  Can't wait for the babies  big_smile   Cathy

Re: To Patty

To continue Tres's Royal lyrics theme:

I was walking down the street at sunrise one morning
In London, England
And there was a very large Rolls Royce Limousine
Pulling slowly along the street

And in that Rolls Royce was the Queen of England
Looking tired, just got back from a party
And the Queen leaned out and she said, 'Aren't you B.B. King?'
She said, 'Oh B.B., sometimes it's so hard to pull things together
Could you tell me what you think I ought to do?' And I said

'You better not look down if you want to keep on flying
Put the hammer down keep it full speed ahead
Better not look back or you might just wind up crying
You can keep it moving if you don't look down'

This won't be happening in London this morning. Not because BB's not in town but because Her Majesty left Buck House for some peace and quiet in the country before the party began last night. Apparently, the Throne Room was turned into a disco, complete with glitter ball and Prince Harrry ordered a survivors breakfast at 6.00am this morning with bacon sandwiches. I wonder what happend to my invitation? Lost in the post, I expect.  lol

Yesterday's ceremony and pageant is what the Brits do best. It was a wonderful event and the music was beautiful. Great relief that it all went off so well. I hope those who watched it enjoyed it. As for me, there's only just so many times I want to see that kiss (well, one of them, anyway)! Every news bulletin is definitely overkill.  roll

Looking forward to doing it all again next year for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.  cool
