Topic: Tourmaster 4212 - Joe tone

Hey,
Newbie here. I have an Egnater Tourmaster 4212 and I've been trying to get close to Joe's tone with this amp but can't seem to dial it in. Anyone here have a Tourmaster that can point me in the right direction? Thanks.

Re: Tourmaster 4212 - Joe tone

You might find the easiest way to get a good joe tone with an amp nothing like his is to keep the amp on a really nice clean tone and find a good overdrive pedal to drive it.  I use A Vox AC15 hw and a Fender Vibrolux.  Neither are close to amps that he uses but I get a really good Articulate Joe'ish tone using some overdrives I really like.  I run into a Tim Pedal and then into a Fulltone Fulldrive.  I use the fulldrive as a light to medium overdrive.. and use the Tim Pedal as a boost with  very light drive.  Together they are pretty creamy and heavy... great for leads that dont get mushy on the low end.

Its working for me.  I would try out some pedals... Wampler makes great stuff,  I love Fulltone pedals... The OCD is a great rock pedal, high gain... The Fulldrive is my favorite OD pedal ever... The Fuchs Plush drive is an excellent Joe'ish pedal...

Love Pedal makes some stuff... I dont care for most of it.  Egnator's are great amps but they have a unique sound. If you can dial it in its probably because you have a sound in your head that is more Fender/Marshall... Joe'ish kind of sound.

Pedals may get you closer... Good luck.

Also try adding some delay.
