ROCKED!
Too many highlights to sum up quickly. It's been hours since the show ended and my head's still reeling!
Sooo true!
The crowd was a little weird (not to mention the 2 wannabe strippers dancing alone in front of the stage), but that didn't stop Joe, Mark and Bogie putting on one hell of a show - again! My musical highlight was Mountain Time (as usual) and Bridge to Better Days. Personal highlight was the opportunity to buy the new CD ahead of the release date, to have it signed by all 3 and to speak with Bogie and Mark and Joe for a bit.
It always amazes me to know that no matter how exhausted Joe is after a show he still makes time to sign every autograph, speak to everyone who is waiting for a few seconds with the Master! Plus, especially here in Vegas, there are always those who are trying to nab him for some sort of deal, private show, etc. SCOOP - last night there was a guy from some part of ESPN ( I think) who was talking to Joe about appearing on on of the "World Poker Championship" shows - of course there are many of them and who knows if it's legit?
Tonight will be a much wilder show at Boulder Station Casino - the crowd LOVED him last time he was there (his first sppearance there) and I'm sure tonight will be packed!

SCOOP - last night there was a guy from some part of ESPN ( I think) who was talking to Joe about appearing on on of the "World Poker Championship" shows - of course there are many of them and who knows if it's legit?
AWESOME! I have been pushing for "The River" to be used as the intro song for the World Series of Poker broadcasts on ESPN (anyone familiar with Texas Hold'em will recognize the connection). I spoke to Joe's manager about this last year. Roy told me he did approach ESPN about it, but they were not interested at the time. Since then I've writen to all the TV Poker Programs and pushed this idea as well.
I envisoned several tough looking cowboys sitting around a table in a smokey old western saloon playing cards - filmed in black and white - as the song starts in the background....the picture moving from face to face and expression to expression...and then the "River" card is turned up as Joe sings the last "...Down at the river" in the intro...and then WHAM!! The song breaks loose where the drums and bass join in, the black and white jumps to color and the game changes to action shots at a table full of today's poker pros playing a WSOP tournament. I think it really builds excitement and would be a natural. Maybe ESPN is now interested!!!!!
"World Series of Poker" - that might have been it (you can tell I'm out of the poker loop, huh?). We were overhearing the conversation between Joe and this "ESPN" guy (who bought all 6 CDs for $100), but were not privy to the entire conversation - Joe did seem quite interested in what was said. I felt we were invading a private conversation, but my husband was hanging on every word out of Joe's mouth.
We'll be going to the Boulder Station show tonight and I'll ask Joe about the ESPN guy or if he has been approached about either appearing in person or having his music used.
Joe, if you ever read this - thank you so much for moving to the edge of the stage for my photos! I have a feeling everyone was listening to you, but watching the bimbos grope each other (dance??) so I didn't feel I was blocking anyone's view while snapping away with the camera.
I have also been in touch with management of some of the top poker players. They also do licensing, marketing, private events, etc. which includes production of TV shows and video games. I thought somewhere down the pipe, they had something or a connection somewhere that would see the value in licensing "The River". Their office is in Vegas, I haven't heard but it might have been one of their guys. I have provided media kit and CD's to their head guy, so maybe at the least it was talked up at the office. Then again, maybe no connection whatsoever. I'm trying to get in contact with them now to see if they made it to the show.

As F1 said, there were many people who expressed interest in Joe. Isn't that always the way?
Gotta laugh about the comment on the "wannabe" strippers. There was nothing "wanna" about them. They knew what they were doing. Sadly, their antics distracted the crowd right about the time Joe was trying to get the audience to join him in a little sing along. Oh well, the gals were chastised by someone from the audience and the crowd did eventually sing with Joe.
Love all the changes and new arrangements to old favorites. Still on a high from last night's show. Good thing, too, since tonight's was cancelled. (Thankfully, we have another show we can see later on.)

Re: Strippers: As long as it doesn't become a dog and pony show. 
It was a dog & puppy show - the only good thing about their "dancing" was that I was able to get great shots without blocking someone's view. then it seemed they were able to drum up (no pun, Bogie) enough business for their night and their pimp took them away.
Anyway, it didn't distract us or Joe - that's all that mattered!
