Topic: TREME IS BACK

One of my HBO favorites, Treme, was back for season 2 tonight. I love the heavy mix of music with the story line and 2 favorites were showcased tonight, The Subdudes and The Dirty Dozen Brass Band. Lucia Micarelli's character Annie was Jammin ' with the Subdudes and her Violin playing is no act, she was classically trained @ Julliard and the Manhattan School of Music and has toured with Jethro Tull and Josh Groban. Not a bad actress either. Anybody else dig this NOLA based show?

Re: TREME IS BACK

I tried 4 episodes, but just couldn't get into it. I wanted to since I think David Simon is a flat out amazing storyteller, but it just wasn't for me.

Watched a couple last year, but for some reason didn't get properly into it - I have a few more unviewed ones on my HD and will give it another try once I finish my Dexter-thon.  wink

Re: TREME IS BACK

Season 2's premier threw a lot into the pot to get the second season under way as well as introducing a new suspect character from Texas intent on capitalizing on the plight of NOLA. This season is dedicated to the memory of David Mills who wrote for season 1, but passed away just before the premier last year.

Re: TREME IS BACK

The Dirty Dozen Brass Band will be in SF May 21st @ the Independent. I've seen them @ this same venue before with Back Door Slam, we're talkin' serious chunks o' funk, with a tuba to boot!!!
