Topic: my recent rig additions

been a while since i've posted anything really. had a bit of change around recently. mainly in regards to pedals.

i've stripped down my board as i'd stared to have a few things on there i wasn't really using.
still using the polytune, great tuner though i forget it's polyphonic and tune it mono style.

upgraded from the danelectro OCD clone to an actual OCD. version 4 and i use it mainly to push the amp a little harder for lead work, it's become a favourite pedal to use.

and finally i brought the MXR CS phase 45 reissue. i found that phasers i had in the past were too in your face sounding. the phase 45 seems more akin to a uni-vibe to me. very warm and rounded and blends with your base sound very well. the faster settings don't get too crazy, very fast leslie like.

so i'm running these on a little board, debating wether to stick them on a pedaltrain nano as my main gigboard.

Fender 60's Strat>Fulltone OCD V4>>TC Electronics Polytune>Orange Dual Terror>Torres 2x10 Cab(with a vintage 30 and a greenback)

I'd still go with the Sonic Research Strobe Tuner...that thing is quick and deadly accurate...I mean, who actually tunes by playing all strings...really? I would not...
(Turbo Tuner)

+2 on the Turbo Tuner....I love mine except when it gets finicky (or maybe it's my guitar)

Re: my recent rig additions

The point of the polytuner's six strings at once is not so you can tune all strings at once.  I find that when I am playing and I notice I am out of tune but am unsure which string it is... You hit the tuner which mutes you... then strum all the strings and see which one is jacked up... Then hit that string and the poly tuner turns into a regular tuner showing you the individual string like any other tuner.  It saves a lot of time which in the middle of the song I find really helpful.

And as far as accurate goes... I tune the guitar with that and my ear cant tell any strings are out of tune... So thats accurate enough.
