Topic: Hugh Laurie

Got my hands (thanks Amazon.fr) on a copy of "Let Them Talk" by Hugh Laurie (better known for his double act with Stephen Fry and, of course, Dr House) and I must say it's good.

It's a New Orleans blues record, with lots of piano and upright bass. Caught myself foot-tapping quite a lot.

I especially like his cover of "St James Infirmary", which you'll find here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LUHamQP4r8Q

Almost all of the songs are available on YouTube so give 'em a listen wink

Here's the tracklist:

1. Saint James Infirmary
2. You Don’t Know My Mind
3. Buddy Bolden’s Blues
4. The Whale Has Swallowed Me
5. John Henry (Featuring Irma Thomas)
6. They’re Red Hot
7. Six Cold Feet In The Ground
8. The Battle Of Jericho
9. After You’ve Gone (Featuring Dr. John)
10. Swanee River
11. Police Dog Blues
12. Tipitina
13. Whinin’ Boy Blues
14. Baby, Please Make A Change (Featuring Sir Tom Jones & Irma Thomas)
15. Let Them Talk

Re: Hugh Laurie

Thanks Plutux - not a huge fan of that style but interesting. Hugh also guested on Meatloaf's last album (Hang Cool Teddy Bear) which is quite good IMHO.
