Topic: Robin Trower

He's playing just up the road from me (same place I first saw Joe) in October. Never seen him live, is he worth a trip ?

Re: Robin Trower

Unfortunately, I missed him the last time he was here.  Shred went to the show and said Davy Pattison was ill.  I hope he is feeling better.  I love Robin's playing and songs.  There aren't many that can play like him.  If you love Paul Rodgers, you will love Davy.  He is one of Rocks's best singers.  His tone, to die for and he knows how to use it.

Enjoy the show if you go smile

Re: Robin Trower

Saw him a year ago and rocked, great show.

Re: Robin Trower

Go see him!  I saw him on the riverfront in Louisville, KY a few years ago.  He is outstanding live.  When he hit the first chord for "Daydream" a hush fell over the crowd.  It was awesome.  He is one of those truly blessed guitarists who have their own style and you recognize them after a few notes.  Played with a ton of feeling and emotion and is better live than on his records.  Day of the Eagle and Too Rolling Stoned were also mesmerizing.

Re: Robin Trower

Thank you for comments, It sounds like Robin is a must see live.

Trower is an amazing player.

You should hear his latest album 'The Playful Heart'

Re: Robin Trower

Absolutely stunning player. Seen him a couple of times.
Just wish he'd get some screens for his amps and mic 'em through the PA. He drives them so hard it's painful at the front.

Re: Robin Trower

Enjoy. Seen him many times, although last time was a couple of years ago now. Davey P does a great job on the vocals.

Robin does forget he is playing smaller venues these days and sometimes the volume is a killer, but he has great tone and ability and can create a dinstinctive magic.

Re: Robin Trower

An awesome player. Have followed him since the 70's. But I agree, too loud, even at my age...

Come on the Blades (sorry Idolbone just had to borrow your line)

Re: Robin Trower

We just did 4 gigs with him, definately was not too loud. He had great band with him too.

Re: Robin Trower

Wow, what a great night and what a great guitarist. Volume was spot on and Robin's guitar tone and playing was amazing.

The clip below is not from the show I went to, but the same tour, enjoy.

Re: Robin Trower

Trower is still my #1 favorite guitarist (alive). Im only 40, and have seen him 5 times.
I think hes so under rated, reminds me of how SRV was until he passed.
I just purchased one of his Fender DeVille amps which includes 2 tix and meet n greet like Joes Lithos`s, and cant wait to have Robin sign it. Hopefully ill have a Bonamassa studio signed at the Seattle meet n greet to go with my Trower amp for xmas! 2 of my fav guitarists = 1 happy fan..

Re: Robin Trower

Really enjoying his new album "Roots and Branches". It's a mixture of new songs and his take on standards such as Hound Dog and Little Red Rooster. He shares the vocals with Richard Watts and Paul Jones plays harmonica on 3 tracks.

Re: Robin Trower

Haven't heard the name in years but I've seen him a few times
