Topic: The Les Paul that inspired Joe's Goldtop

I would imagine that like Joe and the resources he has access to, it would be simple to track it down, especially since it was his dad's shop from which it was sold.
Has he ever tried to track it down and buy it back?

Good thought! It was probably sold before computers kept better records, so I'm thinking unless it was sold in the 90's, an electronic record of the sale was never made, thus making it harder to  track down. AND combined with the fact it might have changed hands multiple times since....  hmm

Ask me about my handwound Great Lakes Guitar Pickups
Since 2010, Bonamassa fans have taken advantage of my JB friend discount = my cost + shipping. cool

hmm....but what I mean is since it was sold from his Dad's shop, he would have easy access to records assuming they were kept. From there, just follow the trail.....unless it was sold online at one point further problematising the search...

Re: The Les Paul that inspired Joe's Goldtop

I think the only good chance that guitar would surface again is if the present owner happened to know of JB and his music.  A lot of people play les pauls so their might be a chance that it's current owner isn't a fan or has even heard of Joe, but theres also a chance that they have.

Assuming it has changed hands since then, if it is owned and played by someone who is a fan, they could probably at least wonder "could this beat up LP possibly have once been in Joe's possession.  And with the internet's help, I'm sure said owner would have a good chance at inquiring.

As Joe's popularity continues to grow, I would guess that eventually, if the guitar is still in existence; that it could resurface in the future.  -Seth

That would be really cool.....I hope its being used and not in some closet or under a bed.
I wonder if Joe even would like to find it again....
