Topic: Experience Hendrix

Anybody else planning on seeing this show? We just got our tickets for the Hershey show on November 9. According to the email I got from the theater:

"Experience Hendrix, the tour that revisits the music and inspiration of Jimi Hendrix features an all-star line up of music greats including Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Susan Tedeschi, Robert Randolph, Jonny Lang, Living Colour and lots more!"

Eric Johnson is also supposed to be in this show, and I really enjoyed his performance a couple of years ago in Philly.

Re: Experience Hendrix

Eric is in the show and Steve Vai has been added as well. Since this won't see the light of day in Europe , let's hope for a DVD. Enjoy the show!

I too would love this show to come to the UK, since it was here that Jimi's career catapulted  off.

Don&Jocelyn:  Can you please point me in the direction of tickets?  I went to the Giant Center website and couldn't find it, is it at Hershey Theater?  Help!

Edit:  Found it, but I need the presale code!  HALP! :-)

Sorry for the delay getting back to you, Carl, I don't always visit every day.   sad

The presale code is HENDRIX.

See you there! smile

Re: Experience Hendrix

The cast varies from show to show. The Hollywood gig was pretty cool but the lead in bands were disappointing. You'll have a stage full of names jamming for the finale. Everyone can do Hendrix covers.

Re: Experience Hendrix

Don & Jocelyn:  Thanks for the assist....Row B for Hershey...but wow....$202.xx for 2 tickets w/service charges?  For that they oughta bring Jimi back to play.   If tickets are 89 a piece for good seats, I don't mind that too much, but wtf is a $9 per ticket "convenience" fee, plus $3.50 "order processing" fee, and then....to add insult to injury....they charge you $1.75 for the computer to mail you a link so you can print your tickets at HOME on your own PRINTER!!  Grrrrr...I hate TicketBastard!  Pearl Jam had the right idea...they should be boycotted.  Too bad they're a freakin' monopoly.  Isn't that against the law?

Looking forward to the show.  I hope they have better sound reinforcement than when I saw the tour several years ago, Tommy Shannon's bass took over everything and you could barely hear the guitars or vox in the mix, except for Buddy Guy.

Re: Experience Hendrix

Carl, Ticketbastard is trying to do damage control with all in pricing and interactive charts. They have been feeling the pain of people just choosing not to play their game anymore and ticket sales have been atrocius this summer. It isn't just Ticketbastard it is the venue's promoter's and even artists in on the scam. Kickbacks to venues, artists scalping thier own tickets through Ticketsnow are all coming back to haunt them.

Congressional hearings but none the less the merger of Live Nation and Ticketbastard has come to fruition. I think they will ultimatley collapse under their own weight unless sombody thinks they are too big to fail the free market might just win this one.
