No personal experience, but I've looked into it. Sounds great for a solid state.... I'm thinking about picking one up one of these days.

Lance Keltner is a fantastic player, always has great tone, and he helped design this puppy. Im (of course) a die-hard tube guy, but I have to say, SS has come a LONG way, and if Lance would tour with this amp w/o a 2nd thought, it's probably damn good. If I had $1K to spend, I'd get one just to try.
ProGuitarShop.com recently did a demo of this puppy. I couldn't believe it when i heard it was solid state. Anyway there is a link for the video on PGS's homepage. $975.00
Cheers!

Yeah I saw that one too..... Still sounds great...
One of these will be coming to my house this summer. I like Lance's videos better, but I am sold on getting one of the retro recs. Just gotta move some other gear for the fundage!

Could you do a little review when you get it?
fer sure!
This very much intrigues me. The demo's sound great. I wanted to demo one while in Nashville, but didn't get time. Next time through I should be able to give one a test drive. May be what I am looking for!
Just sent the email for info on ship times, and such for this.
Proguitarshop has those in stock and ready to ship as well as destroy all guitars. no affiliation to either, just a well informed Tejas inhabitant.
Hi,
New guy here. I'm blessed by living only about an hour north of Guitarproshop in Portland, OR. So after seeing a little bit on here about that amp and watching some of the Youtube stuff I just had to meander down and see just what it was really all about.
First off I have to say that the Guitarproshop in Portland is one of the neater hardcore gear head places you can fall into. It's chock full of all kinds of neat boutique type stuff. Things they have on the website are right there to fiddle with. Which leads me to the next deal. I poke my head in and find the Retroreck. After turing it on the shelf it was sitting on (this thing is LIGHT), the sales guy wanders over and ask me if I needed anything. With a smile I told him that I didn't have any money in my pocket, but I was dying to hear one through a single 12

First off, welcome to the forum! And how did it sound?
Dont leave us hanging here! Whats the rest of the story?
Did it again. See the next post!
Wow. I just realized that about half my post got cut off! Sorry about that! So the sales guy says with a smile "i haven't either. You grab the head and i'll get the cab". These guys are not only nice, but are true guitar people.
So we plug in a little 12" Vox cabinet they had sitting there. First thing i notice is that regardless of the volume level the tone remains very consistent. Rolling the throttle back the guitar really does clean it up nicely without it getting that "flat" muted sound. With the gain around six and volume rolled off a touch on the strat i was playing it was a dead ringer for SRV's Littlewing. Turning the gain up really started to get it into overdrive territory. On ten it was fullboogie gainolicious. This was about the only time you couldn't roll the knob down and get it really clean without losing some db's. I know i probably wouldn't play it at that level, so for me it was a nonissue. Overall i can say that it's accurately represented in the video's and as soon as my wife lets me leave the house again with something even closely similar to money (i offered to wash dishes for it!) it's going to find it's way back home.
Just realized that this almost sounds like an ad! Lol. Maybe they'll give me one and it'll save my finger caluses from dishpan hands!

"fullboogie gainolicious" Love it! Sounds like something Gearmandude might say!
I'd pretty much agree with that brief review. It has a ton of gain when full up, more than expected. I'm juggling either a Retro wreck or M13 and new pedal case purchase. I own 5 amps, so may be the m13 for now, but the RR1 is very tempting.
