Re: pre 1964 strat

CRAP! I'd totally pay whatever you asked for the guitar, but I just sent all my personal information including my life savings to inherit a fortune from one of my long lost relatives in Nigeria. As soon as my five million dollars gets put into my paypal account, surely I'll be able to afford this!  wink I had no idea I was Nigerian!

Wow! We are brothers! HALLELUJAH! I've just did the same thing! Simply unbelievable! Since there's just one guitar, I'll ask the Nigerians if they could get me a similar guitar ..... I had no idea that it so easy to get rich (and get a 64 Fender, and get a brother!).

Hopefully the ad has no serious intentions.... If so, I guess we need to apologize....

Re: pre 1964 strat

well, in all fairness... he NEVER said it was for sale!  cool

So if he has one, and just wanted to brag, I guess my response would be "cool, man. Congrats."

Re: pre 1964 strat

64 strat is legit---owner bought in 64, played with group for 6 mos., and it has been stored under bed ever since----has been checked by collectors under neck, numbers verify age, etc.  locality is ithaca, ny., starting point for good poeple like dio and others .   sorry none of you can believe this, but too bad for you----best offer so far was 41000.00, previous best was 31,000. on e-bay about ayear ago--------

Re: pre 1964 strat

Beardo,
First of all,  there is a place for selling guitars... Ebay, Gbase, craiglist, guitar show, my shows LOL..  This forum is not a place for that..  Second.. 41,000 for a 64 stratocaster is unheard of in the post Bernie Madoff era..  I know of one 64 strat that is worth in that range and it belongs to a friend of mine in New York..  By the way did I mention he opened the orginial shipping box and it came with the matching Bandmaster amp still in the box.. Essentially it is brand new guitar..  A fair price for that guitar that you are speaking of would be around 20,000 dollars if you had to have it... I think Fender guitars especially have not bottomed out yet..  None of it has judging by the reports I got from Dallas over the weekend.  Good luck with it..  Wish it was a 1964 Corvette with a split window.. That I d give you 41,000... If it had the 427 engine..   cool

Re: pre 1964 strat

I bought an original  64 Strat unseen with the transition logo about seven years back......cost me £4500 back then, it really was an average sounding guitar with none of that Strattyness required and didn't even match up to the Cunetto relics I also owned, so I kept her a couple of years and sold her on for £9000....bought a very nice Tom Murphy aged '59 LP with the profit. Old doesn't always equal great. There's good and bad of every guitar model made, such is the nature of wood, wire and magnets.

Re: pre 1964 strat
