Wow this is good and bad,if this could be done on Epipy's why not others,making it even harder still to quickly spot a fake.
No one should try to Fake a Guitar or offer a guitar for sale as something it's not. However, like me and a lot of other people, I do not like the Epi headstock shape.
So as long as Epihone (advertised as 'made by Gibson') produce Les Pauls identical in appearance to those made by Gibson USA except for HS shape I don't see a problem in converting it for personal gratification.
However the original Epi serial number should be retained.
Korean Epi's are nice bodies, good weight and lend themselves ideal for upgrading with Gibson Hardware. This is not faking - it is very easy to spot a Gibson fake. Not so easy a Fender, if you buy a used Fender body, Neck and hardware from different sources and bolt it all together, is it a Fender?.
You can't do this so easily with a Gibson
