Topic: Y-chord to plug into JCM 800

So I got a Y-splitter to plug into my 1983 JCM 800 vertical input, because EJ does that (to his 4 input marshalls), so I thought some magical tone to happen... NOTHING.  Just sounds like my low sensitivity input.  Am I missing something?

Yes, the input jacks on JCM 800's are wired differently than the 4 input amps are. They are a switched jack and the you can use Hi or Low but not both at the same time. When one jack is left unplugged, it completes the circuit and signal goes through the amp.
