Topic: Les Paul with alleged Kossoff link on Ebay

Would you bid on this? Don't think I would. Ever had a bad experience buying a Vintage guitar with claimed star connections?

My alarm bells are ringing given zero feedback and a hurried description and no provenance.

Still, its very pretty.

Re: Les Paul with alleged Kossoff link on Ebay

The guitar had a seller with 0 feedback, thats like trying open a email that you don't know who its from and not having anti virus software to combat it!  Its a little dangerous, My vote is pass.  I would be more willing to go for the Marshall because if nothing else its pretty rare to see a marshall of that age in that kind of condition, I didn't see any tears.  The seller has over 2000 feedback points and is 100% so if nothing else you could know your getting something of some value.  I think the prices is a little steep considering some of the prices Claptons stuff went for.   Maybe 5 years ago they could have got something like that.

Re: Les Paul with alleged Kossoff link on Ebay

"been told"? Yeah right, and Kossoff was his cousin too.  hmm  If it's not documented it don't mean $hit!

Re: Les Paul with alleged Kossoff link on Ebay

Well, just for openers Gibson started selling Les Pauls in 1952, so wouldn't they have issued a "20th Anniversary" model in 1972, not 1973?  Add to that the fact that the original finish was removed, and that it has obviously been otherwise modified from stock, and I'd say "pass"...
