Topic: Suhr Riot into Marshall JCM800?

Has anyone tried the Suhr Riot into a JCM 800 master volume set fairly clean (low sensitivity, MV and preamp both on 7)?  I tried a MI Audio Crunch Box and it sounded too harsh to my ears.

Yup. I'm running a Riot into a 1987 50w 2204 head, into a Palmer PDI-03.

With a Richie Kotzen telecaster (DiMarzio Chopper-T in the bridge) it sounds rather like Nuno on Pronograffitti. Pretty epic, but possibly not as "gnarly tubescreamer" as you might like if you're going for "Joe" sound. It's definitely not harsh though, very warm and cranked-stack like.

Ha!  Funny you mention Richie, since he is one of my favorite players and I set up my Tele just like his  smile  I am definitely not going for a Joe tone, because although great, it has no place in my band.  Thanks for the info, guess time to put the OCD on craigslist.

Yeah I had seen the video, but for whatever reason, gear or recording device, even the OCD sounded like it had a lot of gain, whereas the one parked on my pedal board, though a great pedal has a lot less on tap.  I also had the BB Preamp and it also had a lot less gain through my rig (granted I don't play active pickups).  I just feel so far that both the BB and OCD are great rhythm players, but i like a bit more fur for solos.  I am also listening to the Emma ReezaFRATzits and that sounds incredible good.  I also just got my BK Butler Tube Driver home from the shop yesterday, so that may do the trick.
