We just got our tickets this morning for the 4/1 show in Reading. Looking forward to it, as many on this forum have encouraged us to see him in the past. This is the first time we've had the chance to do so.

You guys will love Walter,i will be seeing him twice in one week with Jimmy Thackery at the Rams Head on 4/6 & State Theatre on 4/8

Hey Tarus, just wanted to get back to you and report we had a BLAST at the 4/1 show in Reading, and met Walter afterwards. Just a great show, and definitely not the last time we will see him live! We also thought his band was first rate; the drummer was amazing, the bassist was tight, the keyboardist Sammy Avila was terrific, and Sammy's son Danny joined them on stage for a few songs and did a duel with Walter that was priceless! Hopefully you'll get to see some of that guitar work too, although I know Jimmy Thackery is going to be in Annapolis too, so the stage might get a little crowded.

We met Walter afterward and told him about the Bonamassa link that had recommended him to us, and he told us a story that you may have already heard, but just in case I'll recount it here. According to Walter, in the Full Circle album, the track with Joe was actually the REHEARSAL. He and Joe had gotten together to write and arrange the song, and then they went into the studio to perform it for the first time. When they were done, the drummer said, "Okay, are we ready to record now?" and Walter answered, "I think we just did!" Nailed it on the first try!

Walter is playing Moondog's Sunday 4-10 @ 7.30....it's outside of Pittsburgh Pa...(A smaller venue....gets hot in there too with a lot of people!)

Joe played there many many years ago .......:)

Don, or was it Jocelyn?  wink

That is a lovely story about the recording of Clouds and it reminded me of my post about this great song almost two years ago. If you haven't seen it I'm sure it will interest and amuse you too.

Danny Avila,Sammy's son played acoustic guitar both nites.Angela, i got the Michael Burks' guitar strings and will put them in the mail today. Jimmy Thackery is giving me a set of strings and i will mail them as soon as i get them. Also Danny Avila said he would be sending around 30 strings as soon as this portion of the tour is over.

New Album - Blues For The Modern Daze! To be Released April 23 in Europe, April 24 in USA!

Walter and the band have been in the studio creating their newest musical statement: 78 minutes of blistering Blues Rock. Walter wanted the CD to re-create the energy and the passion that he generates live. In the new Bio, Walter is quoted as saying:

"I thought it would be exciting to make a blues album now," Trout explains. "I liked the idea of capturing the energy of my touring band playing live in the studio, and in terms of subject matter, the state of the world is perfect for writing blues songs."

I had a chance to listen to this complete album today. RUN, DON'T WALK to get this one! It has all the elements of modern blues/rock that I/we love!
He's doing a live broadcast out of Vegas tonight from 5 till 8. Go to www.waltertrout.com for details.

Why don't we eliminate all the warning labels and let things sort themselves out?

Re: Walter Trout

Got Walter's new CD, "Blues For The Modern Daze", on Friday. Have listened to it at least 10 times now and, once again, another masterpiece from Walter! Walter is without question my favorite blues/rock songwriter (and has been for years) and this is some of his best stuff.

Re: Walter Trout

What an incredible Walter Trout show that was. Replay is at http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A … W4djRwNOww and will be available for replay or download tomorrow. It included a bunch of cuts off the new cd, a live interview with Walter, then a replay of his 'Vegas Christmas show. Smokin'!

Thanks for the tip on the replay.  I didn't notice the original info, even though I was on Walter's site a few days back.  I see it's posted prominently now, regarding the second chance.

As far as suggestions, too late for that I guess, based on when this thread started, and it doesn't look like the original poster has checked back in, or I missed it.  But anyway...

Looking forward to Modern Daze being added to my collection.

Play like you've worked at it, and don't worry about sounding like your influences.  You can't cheat on them, or your practice, anyway.  If you've worked hard at your skill, your audience will know it.
