ps. you can also further affect your tone by the placement of the baffle from the cab and the angle of the "v"

what are the effects? Let me know your experience.

Narrowing the "V" will be the same as moving it further away from the sound source.  Both will have some sort of marked increase in high frequency response heard.  Closer placed and wider opened, bass frequencies will be more, for a given place playing or standing more or less in line with the amp, not accounting for room acoustics which could direct reflected highs about anywhere in any of myriad unknown patterns.  Mic pickup patterns would be somewhat similar, but certainly different and then the room acoustics for combined outputs of direct and mikes and amplified for house mix makes for a whole lot of experimenting with changing location variables!

+1

Pretty much gives additional eq'ing (headaches?)

Re: Clearsonic baffle price!!!

Just ordered my baffle, as I've been playing now for a couple of years using a "home made" affair - first attempt was plywood, and then low grade perspex - that stuff is really expensive now! Actually seems the material you use can have a slight affect on tone, so looking forward to getting the real deal soon and meddling with it.
I run a marshall JVM, split signalled with a F***er hot-rod tucked directly behind it and mic'ed from the back(for clearer highs) which gives the drummer nightmares apparently, so he's hoping the third and fourth panels will go down the side between him and the amps to give him some respite! don't know what he means!!!!!  wink
I wouldnt be without one now - really lets the amps "breathe" without killing the audience, even in the smaller pub/club venues we play

Re: Clearsonic baffle price!!!

I also think the price of these are really high. Check out drumone.com they used to sell through mf but now you have to call them. I haven't bought one but looked into it last year... I think a two panel was like $50 or something?

Re: Clearsonic baffle price!!!

I found a much cheaper diy solution guys....I stick the stack behind the patio windows, close the doors and play outdoors wireless...lol big_smile  big_smile
